The proposed urban park in downtown Peterborough looks to be coming closer to reality. The Peterborough Examiner noted that the city is seeking out detailed designs for the park, that will find its home on the corner of Charlotte Street and Louis Street. The construction is expected to begin later this year. The park should provide some interesting character for the city, and be great for events and making the downtown more attractive. The site currently is a parking lot that also hosts the Wednesday farmer's market. The farmer's market will be incorporated into the new park, along with a performance stage and a winter skating rink.
